An Unbalanced Lifestyle

Maaan, that was a tough day for Muhammad and I. I had to help him pay for the damage to the masjid and the medical bills for all of his injuries. He still hasn't paid me back!

But we did learn an unforgettable lesson from this:
We often work so hard to achieve our goals in life. We want to get the best education, the best job, make lots of money and etc. There's nothing wrong with that at all. In fact, it's a good thing. What's problematic is the absence of the same amount of effort for our religious duties. We often rush our prayers and leave them for the last second and hardly even make time for reading the Quran. I remember a speaker asked the audience, "How many times have you stayed up all night cramming for an exam? And how many times have you stayed up all night reading the Quran?" It's important for us to think about this and find the balance so we can be successful in both this life and the next.

So how do you keep a balanced life?
